I was born and raised in Calgary Alberta and lived there most of my life. I graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Recreation and Leisure Education, moving back to Calgary I graduated with an M.B.A. from the University of Calgary with a major in Marketing and Distribution Systems. My family owned and operated a local men’s clothing business for almost 20 years where I developed my love of numbers (our Accountant said “it was about time” when I told him that I started training as an Accountant).
Starting my formal education in Accounting in the late 1990’s, I was devoted to my learning spending four years in public practice finally entering Industry where I held several positions as a Senior Accountant, Assistant Controller and finally Controller for a Large Food Store and a small Oil and Gas company. I ventured out to the field of Contract Auditing where I held positions as an Auditor and an Audit Contact (where my responsibilities were hosting Partner’s auditors and responding to queries) for large Oil and Gas companies.
Desiring a change in life and because of a love of salmon fishing, my wife and I decided that we would open an accounting firm on the Island, settling on Nanaimo as our base of operations. I am looking forward to settling in here and becoming a part of the community. We have two little poodles which we have named XiaoBai meaning little white and XiaoHui which means little grey which are their colors.
My responsibilities in the company are marketing, client acquisition and retention, client set up; while my wife’s main responsibilities is to be the main accountant
